Covid-19 has ruled Pakistan allrounder Faheem Ashraf out of contention for the second Test against Australia, which begins on Saturday in Karachi. Faheem returned a positive result when he was tested upon arrival at the team hotel in Karachi. He will now go into isolation for five days, and his replacement – if Pakistan deem one to be necessary – will be announced in due course.

Pakistan will now miss Faheem’s services for the second Test running. He missed the first Test in Rawalpindi with a hamstring injury picked up towards the end of the PSL season.
