In a big blow, England will miss their all-time highest Test wicket-taker, with the veteran Jimmy Anderson sustaining an ankle injury.

However, that has presented an opportunity for Jamie Overton, who is set to make his Test debut.

“Unfortunately Jimmy (Anderson) has not pulled up as well as we would have liked. So Jamie Overton is going to make his debut this week.

“It’s unfortunate for Jimmy but we’ve obviously got a massive Test match against India next week to look to as well. He didn’t pull up as well, so it’s great Jamie gets the opportunity to represent England.

Apart from that, the XI is unchanged.

England have already secured the series with thrilling wins at Lord’s and in Nottingham. However, there are crucial ICC World Test Championship points at stake – England are currently in the penultimate spot in the nine-team table.

England XI: Alex Lees, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (wk), Jamie Overton, Stuart Broad, Matt Potts, Jack Leach.
