When this story was filed, Babar was batting with a score of 90 runs in 55 balls.
It should be mentioned here that England posted 199 runs in the scoreboard in their second T20I against the Green Shirts.
Pakistan’s batting duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have become the most successful batting partners in T20Is surpassing India’s Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan during the Green Shirts second T20I match against England here at the National Stadium Karachi.
The Indian pair had scored 1743 runs in a total of 52 innings as batting partners, Pakistan’s Babar and Rizwan surpassed them in the 36th inning as batting partners when they took Pakistan’s score to 18 runs in the 3rd over in the 2nd T20I against England.
They have also become the first-ever batting pair in T20Is to amass 1800 runs as batting partners.
The Pakistani openers have 7 partnerships of over 100 runs – which is also the most by any batting partners in the shortest format of the game around the world.

Next to them are KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma of India who have five-century partnerships to their credit.
Babar and Rizwan are usually criticized as Pakistan’s top-order pair. However, the number denies what is commonly perceived against them. Their average partnership is over 53 runs per innings.
Of their 1800 partnership runs, they have scored 1500+ runs since the start of 2021. No other batting partner has scored even 800 runs in partnership in this bracket.
