
Pakistan all-format skipper Babar Azam has been named for Sitara-e-Imtiaz, which is the third-highest honour and civilian award in Pakistan, on the occasion of Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day on Sunday.
The civil decoration will be given to the 27-year-old, making him the nation’s youngest cricketer to receive the renowned honour.
Meanwhile, Bismah Maroof, the captain of the women’s squad, will be given Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Masood Jan, a blind cricket player, will be presented with the Pride of Performance award.

It must be noted here that Babar is currently the number one ODI and T20I batter in the world and ranked third in Tests.
The Investiture Ceremony of these awards will take place on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2023.
